I took mine down to Italy in some hot weather and had no problems, but I did wonder if the lack of air flow affects the performance by the inter cooler not getting the full airflow. May be its another test for Pete to try on the rolling road.

Welcome.
I have a Scangauge II and have had it fitted since before the Lightforces were, it made no discernable difference in the running temperatures that I could notice. Just for further peace of mind.... I am running the Lightforce 240s and a winch bumper which is even more restrictive than a LR A-bar, and the temperature this last summer was knocking on 40 DegC every day with no ill effects:

I ran all last year with 240's in addition to winch and A-Bar and it made no difference whatsoever. Plus there is AirCon and a fully insulated bonnet. Just for reference, in addition to the above I also have a Radiator Muff on at the moment with only a small opening and it still doesn't make a difference. I don't suppose this 'dealer' didn't have 240's in stock, but was trying to persuade you to go for 170's or 140's instead?! |

That settles it, I'm taking off the ARB bar and winch and going for that Soft A bar and lightforce set up.
It just looks sweet Cheers John For those who understand, no explanation is needed... For those who do not understand, no explanation is possible |

When you think about it. The Defender has been designed (was it actually designed?????) to be running off-road at slow speeds under heavy load.
It doesn't get a high volume of fast flowing air under those conditions, so some spots in front isn't going to make much of a difference. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |
