I bought a PNY 16gb card whilst I was waiting for the sandisk cards to be returned and it has been fine, no issues at all with it I would shop around a bit next time I go for a large capacity card though, the 32gb sandisk cards have been slated on the gopro forum, nobody rates them but strangely the 16gb sandisk cards have been highly recommended by the same blokes
BP have you been having problems with your cards or camera? Optimists say the glass is half full.. Pessimists say the glass is half empty.. Engineers say the glass is twice the size it needs to be! |

I've only used mine for time lapse but had no problems at all with it. I did get a dodgy 64gb sdxc but once replaced, no issues at all.
I flashed the firmware when I bought it but not bothered since, if it ain't broke .... thanks for the update |

I thought it was just the Sandisk 64gb cards that had problems? My Sandisk 32gb works fine (for now!).
Always charge it via the mains rather than computer/laptop. I use a powered usb hub to charge mine. Format the card 'in camera', not on computer. |

So everyone is happy with their gopro3 now?
Going to get one this weekend for our trip to Botswana, really considering doing the whole drive in time lapse ! Why is it best to charge from the mains? This isn't going to be possible on the road. I do have one of those nice 2 amp twin USB 12v adapters, is this good enough? Thanks, Steve |

The problem of them freezing often occurred when connected to a laptop. Mine still does it occasionally even when connected to the mains. Many feel the Hero 3 was launched too soon, before all the bugs were ironed out. But everyone agrees its a brilliant camera nonetheless. Freezing up is quickly rectified by removing & reinserting the battery.
For your trip, consider the Wasabi battery charger pack which comes with 2 extra batteries. |
