When i fitted the new head to my 90, twice... i just used some gasket sealer either side of said rocker gasket... no leaks at all

Earlier td5 gaskets do have a smaller Half moon section if you've fitted the earlier type it will leak like anything !

I only did the half moons with RV silicon and have had the same result |

You must be the lucky ones!. Would an a later gasket fit an ealier head (mine is an AMC head)? 1999 Defender TD5 110

IIRC the rocker cover bolts have to be torqued down to about 7 ftlb, which is not very tight, if you over tighten them the gasket will deform and you will get leaks.
I like the gasket sealer idea though... |
