Scotland 2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Zambezi Silver
Puma screen washer issues
Hello chaps this is my first post so hello from a guy in scotland.

I have been following the forum for a while now and just thought i would ask a wee question.

My front screen washer has plenty of force when you push the button but then it dies to a small dribble, the only way to get a decent amount of fluid it to tap the stalk rapidly to get loads of large squirts. I played about with it last night taking the passenger headlight out and fishing around the pumps and swapped the pipes and both front and back washer pumps work okay. I then fiddled with the nozzle thinking it pulled off but to no avail. I also was told that you could blow air down the nozzle to blow dirt out of the system but that didn't work.

I tried to get into the back of the nozzle to take it off but couldn't work out how to get to it. Does anyone have a fix or tell me how to get into the back of the dash?

Also the rear washer didnt work so i took the rear CSW panel off the roof and checked the pipe. plenty of water and put it down to a kink in the pipe. Then it didnt work on the test drive. I think this may be because i put the screws in the grab handles after i checked it worked. does this sound feasible?

Cheers William

I had a lot of problems with mine a while back, I'm not sure if the puma is the same as the TD5 but under the bonnet tucked away in the passenger side corner, just before the washer pipe goes through the bulkhead is a little plastic non return valve, this was sticking, I removed it and put a small piece of pipe in its place and never had that problem since. I'm not saying that is your problem but well worth a look. Optimists say the glass is half full..
Pessimists say the glass is half empty..
Engineers say the glass is twice the size it needs to be!
