I have the MSV-2 for my D3, I didn't buy the Td5 software yet as the Td5 is a very basic version no alarm, central locking, traction control, abs etc
So I wait till I really need it. So I cannot comment on the Defender software. I like the software for the D3 and that is still under development, but can do a lot what the Dealer can't do. The experience I have with the Blackbox is good. I had a waranty problem and that was solved good and quickly. But what really amazed me was support on the software side. I had problem switching on satnav on the move in my D3. It worked on other D3's but mine gave a problem. Within 2 days the problem was found and a special patch was written and put on the website for downloading and this solved my problem. Blackbox is a small company and gives you very personal service. Their helpline is a forum and I had first my doubts about that but I am now really convinced about that as you can read the problems others had and you can get help from others solving your problem and that doesn't have to be a MSV problem but also a diagnostic or something like that. I conversely had really bad experiences with them for the Defender 2 - i admit it was new then - and lead to a return.
I cant decide if ill return to them, ive heard many different things, all boarder on the task the kit does is good and the other elements are bad. If it can do what its supposed to then i may go back - its still a stressed may Mike |

Hi mse,
What was your bad experience with them, do you think that it's better for me to take the Hawkeye from bearmach? The full capacity faultmate, if it works as they wrote, seems to be wonderfull. What a problem Thanks for your reply |

The fualtmate - technology capability wise i think would be far superior to hawkeye, in terms of capabilties.
Where i had issue with it was it didnt work and most importantly (as they were to fix it) the customer service was shocking, beyond bad...i could have waited for a fix but the attitude was very much you only spent £500 you can wait, we only make £70 on each one. Mike |

OK
Thanks for all I'll think about it. I'll surely bring a diagnostic tool from France in january, (maybe) the hawkeye or (surely) the faultmate. I hope I'll have more chance. Thanks at lot |
