Click image to enlarge X4SKP Now that is a damn fine piece of innovative engineering with a great finished look. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

I'd be very interested in the latter if it's engineered as good as the spare wheel one please? Being an electrical engineer I have added extra electrical security and a lock through the hoist but a discreet nevertheless noticeable mechanical one would be ideal. RRUK the Safari Equipment Single Pivot Swingaway Wheel Carrier gives you two options of height adjustment, dependent on which way you fit the mounting bar. You can have the single stud uppermost thereby lowering the mounting position significantly.
Click image to enlarge Previously I had my windows tinted and as a result due to the reflective properties of the film applied I could see absolutely nothing through the rear view mirror except what was actually in front of me (hope that makes sense). When I eventually after 5 years swapped out the rear windows for Landyglass due to the fact it was the glass that was tinted (not a film application) I could then see again. Because of the size of the wheel/tyre combination and the spoke arrangement of the Mach 5s in the uppermost position I can see through the spokes what is close behind me. In the lower position I can only see vehicles at a distance which are of no real concern or interest. It is also easier to dismount the spare at chest height rather than midriff especially with my back. Mind you in nearly 40 years of driving I've only had to fit a spare in anger once. Windscreen replacements however are a different story. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! They are both nice setups, the one made by RRUK is much less likely to be removed with the universal key (battery grinder)
We had a spate of CATs stolen from our works vehicles, the tell tale grinder marks and sparks visible on the cctv confirmed the weapon of choice. |
