With the Puma there has been much discussion and debate about filters, contamination of MAF and various other niggles. I too have an ITG filter but a standard fit one that sits in the OEM box. Nice bit of kit and one that has not given me any hassle.
Yours does look cooler too. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Have to say that is a beautiful looking 300... Wonder how it compares to the HS 2.8L TGV version of the 300...!??!

I looked at the 2.8 TGV before deciding to rebuild the 300 with a few improvements.
When it comes time to get a new engine/rebuild again I think I will be speaking to IRB about their blueprinted 300Tdi unit. A 2.8 is tempting but with production ended I have a concern about spares etc. From what I have heard it is a good unit though. |

Would be interesting to see with a cold air feed connected to a snorkel.

Yep - I did a test with my Puma, comparing taking air from outside with inside the engine compartment - pretty horrifying results under certain conditions (amazing how quickly the temperature in the engine compartment changes). Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Alex - looks good.
I had a one of the prototypes of this - just never got round to fitting it/doing a kit. I would get a cold air feed to it though... at the moment you will be sucking in warm air. Don't look the best in my opinion - and the scoop is the wrong way round...
A forward scoop is ideal to force air into a top mounted intercooler - but a forward facing scoop feeding straight into the underbonnet area messes up under bonnet air pressure and can reduce air flow though the intercooler and/radiator. So LR's design of sucking air through the wing side isn't so bad then Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Gmack - the header tank is an Allmakes one that I bought. I think anywhere that supplies AllMakes should be able to sell you one. I think it was £20. Ian - I may need to get one of those 102mm air intakes that fir the side vent that you have. |
