I have a Landrover Puma , have driven it around 19000 km. I could feel the drivers seat frame through the seat cushion. I decited to take a look , removed the front seat and took it apart.
This is how it looked . The frame has already got through the cushion. I Glued it together , added some high speed tape along with a bit of cloth to strengthen it. I hope it will last a little bit longer now. You can see on the photos a nylon straps, I used it instead of trying to reuse the little metal rings that hold the seat cover to the cushion. Much easier to reassemble this way. Hope it help someone with the same problem. BTW its probably a good idea to do this with the seats while they are new. Strengthen the cushion a little before it will rip apart. I will probably order two soon and then try to reinforce it somehow to prevent it to happen again.
Do you know where its available for this price ( we are talking about the upper cushion ( the Back ) http://www.defender2.net/gallery/index.php?cat=13451 |

Would probably be good for any of you having a puma with the same Vinil seats to check this out. See if the cushion is already braking apart and try to fix it before it gets through the seat cover. The seat cover on the driver seat already has a dark spot where it was rubbing against the frame. The frame would probably get through the cover sooner or later. http://www.defender2.net/gallery/index.php?cat=13451
