Both my kids have done the D of E and the lad and I have been on wilderness events learning to skin and cook trapp etc good life skills

Been chatting to the wife about this. I am tending to agree with her. If they weren't shown how to use the equipment then maybe they did have a case. We were shown how to use the equipment and how to look after it.
I remember being on a weekend hike and we left our kit out over night and our leader took it off us and locked it in the van. After all we had left about £300 of kit open to the elements. So maybe this leader just wasn't on the ball like ours were, I remember how good they were and think how sad it would have been for any of them to go to court. |
