When you select low range, a switch in the t/box changes the characteristics of the throttle pedal.
Not much happens for about 80% of the travel then the last 20% will rev the engine. Think it was designed for folk who can't 'lock' their ankles whilst bouncing around rough terrain and thus get kangarooing There's a plug on the t/box you can unplug to stop it....I have on mine; much nicer. |

The switch is in the casting on the top of the t/box where the hi-low lever goes into:
Image from Ashcrofts; see the red plastic plug? it goes in there, and has a few inches of cable and a moulded (grey I think) plug on it. which plugs into the vehicle harness. If you do unplug it, cover both ends in gaffer tape, just to keep the crud out of the pins. |

D'OH!!!! You're right (of course) Dave... whoops!
Well, it's in a similar area of the box, more down on the main casting IIRC, with the flylead and plug. |
