For some reason the engine was in limp mode.
I had the same after my turbo hose was blown off and i put it back on. After a restart it was good. Is the engine light burning? |

Can you give us a bit more history please?
What is the mileage, have you owned it from new and have the glow plugs ever been changed, did the glow plug icon on the dash light up? Do you have a DTC reader and if so where there any logged? Did you notice the exhaust plumes colour and if it was smokey or not? What about the Ambient air temp when the fault first occurred? How much fuel was in the tank and where did you fill up last? Any issues with water ingress into the cab? Have you been through any deep puddles lately? This list is not endless so any extra information you can provide will give us all a bigger picture to explore, Cheers Brian. |

answers, answers! mileage is 62000, bought it second hand, glowplug light came on with ignition, then went out as usual, yes ive got a DTC reader but never thought to check for any codes no more smoke than normal, air temperature was approx 7-10 degrees, tank was full of esso juice, no water in the cab, maybe an odd puddle or two, but no deep ones. the engine management light wasnt on. it was perfect this morning on the way to work and perfect tonight coming back. thank you, Harry NO ROAD..........EXCEPT FOR LANDROVER |

well the solution ive come up with is that ive had a tank full of diesel. i drained about 1/4 of a pint out of the filter into a clear pot, and the amount of crap that was floating about in the bottom was unbelievable so i used the rest of the tank up. the filled her up with v-power and......touch a bit of wood, shes never missed a beat since NO ROAD..........EXCEPT FOR LANDROVER

I had some thing simmilar happen to mine when away in Nottingham on a course - did a bit of city driving for 2 weeks, short runs, stop start, not letting the engine warm up ...then let it sit in the cold damp air
The engine was running very rough, no power or acceleration, lots of white smoke. Took it for a long run and no improvement.. I though the EGR was on the way out again Added a quality EGR and injector cleaner to the less then half full tank and it was sorted witn in 50miles ... ! back to full power and full acceleration. Cost was about £7 for the cleaner but well worth it - I'll be adding this to the fuel every 3 months just to keep the engine clean.
