Andrew from Allisport also told me this but have not heard it from anyone that has had the decat done to their vehicle.

Mine is more a heat issue than performance so basically I want to get rid of the hot "ball" of metal..... Smile "Overlanding With Bruce" - Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@OverlandingwithBruce

Zedefender, yep i know some advise against it.

But i do know of several not having the issue i have and as said i can see the vanes not being controlled on the scangage when it happens and i do have very dodgy connector and wiring at that place.
FYI normally it steps down to keep around 1.4kg (kg it is i guess) and trigger fault code from 1.5

So i'm 99% sure its plug/wiring related.
fingers crossed

That is the funny thing......it is the same okes advising against it that sells the decat pipes?

Like you said...I have never heard of any one who actually had issues after a decat.

Was going through my emails now and the term that he used is surging of the turbo.

Don't know what that means. "Overlanding With Bruce" - Youtube https://www.youtube.com/@OverlandingwithBruce

I'm also very interested as K9F kindly sold me his old down pipe from which I have duly hollowed out the cat.
My 110 still has 18 months of warranty left and my dealer (who is very helpful) pretended I never mentioned a de-cat Whistle and warned against changing the intercooler on warranty grounds. It's a case of heart vs. head... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

I recently installed the Terrafirma decat pipe + central muffler removal pipe.
I was happy about the improvement but the noise was a little too loud for my taste. Also the odor of the exhaust gas was really noticeable. To avoid possible problem with police I choose to remove the decat pipe and rework the stock cat pipe by swapping the original ceramic cat with a high flow (close to 200 cell) sport cat.

I'm very happy because the noise and gas odor are fairly close to the standard cat.

This is the stock ceramic cat:

And this is the high flow cat

The stock cat exhaust was reworked here:
http://www.bartolimarmitte.com/

They basically cut the cat barrel, pull out the ceramic cat, install the new high flow one and weld the barrel in a very professional way, they look very nice. The new cat are designed to be more resistant and with the same life span of the stock unit.

I don't believe any of my customers have experienced surging as a result of fitting a decat. The surging will be down to the tuning anyway, not because of a less restricted gas flow through the exhaust.

Interesting - have you or any of your customers noticed a change in exhaust smell after decat? Tell someone you love them today because life is short.

Most definitely, the smell of the exhaust gas without a cat is pretty damn pungent, so the cat does make that more palletable! Mr. Green

Where the power delivery feels as though it is fluctuating as the car pulls through the rpm's. It should feel fairly linear and consistent, with smooth delivery throughout.
