Webasto/Eberspacher pickup from Fuel Sedimentor?
Hi

I'm getting my defender ready for winter runs to the Alps and I'm looking to fit a coolant heater and an air heater.  Most advice for fuel pickup seems to be drop the tank and add a standpipe (since i'll need 2 heaters either a double or T off the new pipe) however I saw a post suggesting that  "The Winterised Wolf uses a pipe from one of the Fuel Sedimentor blanking plugs to draw off fuel" has anyone tried this method? Pros/Cons

Any general tips for installing both types of heater would also be much appreciated   Thumbs Up

as far as memory serves me you can not draw off a shared working fuel line. the wolfs i have are plumbed into the filler neck and my td5 is plumbed into the fbh port on top td5 pump.

easiest way is to drop into the filler neck pipe on most landys or tank top on a tdi

i run a puma 2.4 with airtop and thermtop C, they need two feeds for fuel metering pumps to have sufficient flow should both run together.

i drop the tank and ran two feeds in through the top of the the pickup housing. Cheers

I run an airtop, similar to James'. I also have an aux fuel tank in the wing and decided not to connect the balance pipe to the main tank. This means that the main tank remains intack and no holes drilled into it, but I also lose about 4L capacity of the aux tank.
Not a big deal in my mind. So I used the balance pipe connection to feed my airtop. So as soon as I now fill up at the fuel station, I fill the 4L airtop tank first if you get my drift 110 D250 SE HT

I fitted an addition standard pipe up into under seat 90 diesel tank - but to get heater pump to suck we had to feed the nylon pipe down the pick up pipe. It would not draw up the metal pipe.
