The rails while they lift they also allow you to move the mounting points further back so the seat is moved from the very start. I made my own and I've also shifted the seat to the side, away from the door, that has made a big difference.

Using original bolting points I was able to let the seat back against the lowered bulk head without any rails, just cut 2 slots in the junction lip of the seat box and rear tub. I have exmoor trim modulars, maybe the rail goes back further than original seats though, not sure. |
