It's already available in the Puma Electrical Manual. |

Does it name the pins?
+ I reckon Welshgas is onto something here. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17156.html I think, (think..... ) you could parallel and after market BBUS on the original sounder circuit. Might just order one to have a play. |

Well, to be pedantic it doesn't name them (since they don't have names) but it does identify them. Wing harness BBUS connectivity is thus:- C1265-11 to C0666-3 C1265-10 to C0666-1 C1265-9 to C0666-2 C1265-3 to C0666-4 C1265 is the bulkhead end wing harness connector, C0666 is the BBUS connector. All wires have black insulation in a poor attempt to obfuscate the identities to deter thieves. I am not going to identify which signal is on which pin in a public forum. |

Problem with the after market BBS is re-setting after an accidental alarm. A lot of the after market ones have a key to reset the alarm. However with the LR one you can do it with the fob.

Thanks Mr. Wolf - knew I should have gone for this as a factory option but I wanted to have the vehicle straight away so went for one in stock at a dealer which sadly didn't have the BBS. Was £50 +VAT at the time as a factory fitted option. |

Old thread revival time Ok I've just purchased a bbus off ebay (amr4971 as mentioned above) but it seems to work backwards I wanted to test it after fitting and when I took the negative wire off the battery nothing happened but when I put it back on the bbus sounded!! So my question is does anyone know if the p38 bbus has two wires the opposite way to a defender or do I have to shell out another £80 or so for a defender one? Cheers Ray |

I'll take a photo of my wires order at the plug that should tell you if they are wired the same.
It will be tonight though |

Worth comparing wiring diagrams ? Td5 Defender ones are easily found on the net, so hopefully a P38 would too
Also, seem to remember that when I connected and then disconnected mine to test (new Defender one) nothing happened. Then of course, the penny dropped that it needed to charge up first I don't recall the BBUS going off when first connected though... Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless. |

Good evening boyzz,
Just joined your forum, so I hope you'll excuse me for being veeeeery late and coming back on an very old thread ( 2014 ) Like you guys in the UK, were are now getting unwanted elements sc um in NZ that are trying to make the "anouthorisedly acquired " Defender parts a worldwide problem... To that end I acquired a AMR 4971 from Ebay, although my TD5 is fitted as standard with the BBUS already I thought I'd fit an additional one . Like mk1collector in his Post #304447 2nd Feb 2014 6:03pm I'm a bit stuck...... This BBUS ex Rang Rover is wired differently that the TD5 BBUS.... Any one help me out ???? Many thanks |
