Tyre recommendations
I am due to take delivery of my Defender next week, boost alloys with standard tyres. A few people have mentioned that the conti cross and the goodyear wrangler are not the best tyres to be running. Both quite hard compound and not great under hard breaking and handling.

Any recommendations for tyres for the standard boost alloys without upgrading to 17 or 18 sport wheels?

70% on road with 30% off road use.

save your money and stick with the conti's mate.

Ive done 26k miles with mine, never had any problems and managed very well through the winters up in Aberdeenshire Thumbs Up

I regularly take it off road on salisbury plain with people that have BFG AT's, KM2's and I go where they go.

As for on road, they aren't very noisy, stop well and I've still got 8-9 mm of tread left after 26k miles Thumbs Up

you could put that £500-£700 to much better use.

Also just do a quick search and you'll find all this out Whistle Russell

in 20 years of lr driving i have used BFG Track edge, all terrains, GG a/ts and now i am on michelin 7.50s and i've never really had a problem with any of them.
i would be more than happy to run conti cross contacts.

i personally believe that unless you are working +75% off road or doing challenge trophys then factory choice tyres are more than adequate.
