![]() ![]() Thank you! I am sure there aren't enough threads on here about wheel/tyre combos already and will be the first to find it really useful! (Footnote: entering 'wheels' into search facility throws up 1418 threads.) Martin any chance of making the search button about three times bigger? ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! Last edited by K9F on 16th Aug 2012 1:43pm. I'm running BFG KM2's on factory Boost alloys.
![]() IMHO the KM2's are as agressive as I would want to balance on/off road. My 90 is almost exclusively for trialing and green laning therefore I didn't want anything too road biased, but on the other hand I do tend to drive long distances to drive off the tarmac (Wales etc). My 90 is a soft-top so is therefore very noisy anyway, but I can't detect any difference in road noise between the GG's that it came with and these KM2's. I have had them on for approx 2 years now and 6,000 miles and compared to the spare the road tyres are probably only 10% worn (plenty of slash marks to the tread from flints and stones etc). They were reasonably priced (just over £100 or so at the time) and I do quite like the look of the tread. Of course the other debate is whether you have the white lettering on the inside or outside....... my lettering is hidden! James ![]() |

No worries
![]() And to add to the thread, running BFG AT 265/75R16 on genuine Tornado alloys (on a drum braked 90). Excellent tyres, got 8 years out of a set with mainly road use but some light off road. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Martin on 16th Aug 2012 6:55pm. Edited 1 time in total |

^^ Same wheels + tyres, can't fault them at all and no need to adjust the steering stops

Still run the standard ex factory set up in summer. SVX wheels plus General Grabber TR 235/85-16. Very happy with them after 4 years and an estimated 40k km they still have lost only a few mm of thread depth.
They remain well balanced, no cracking, etc. 100% on road usage though. In winter running a separate set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT in same standard size on black steel modular wheels. ![]() Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender. Eric, General Grabbers go on for centuries ... they are ok I prefer Continentals
I run : > SVX alloys with General Grabber 235/85 > Satin Black ZUs with Cooper Snows (235's) and soon: > Satin black boosts with KM2's (255's) |

When the GG will be up for replacement a few years from now, will also install the Contis as summertires

235/85R16 KM2 BFG's on standard Boost alloys. IMHO a 10x better tyre than the GG's even on the road. And a damned site more tougher too. Does exactly what it say's on the tin (well tyre) and never had an issue on road off... Mud or anything. Faultless. If and when I have to change again in the future though I would go slightly wider just for the sake of it.
