It was a fair fault, you're right! They just agreed to pay for it to be re sprayed, but I have to do all the organising and chasing them up. Didn't want to sound too grumpy in the last post but yer it's very annoying.
Yes sorry I meant ST maxx, I looked at them, very good looking tyres and you hear great things about them, if I could end my love affair with BFG I would of maybe got some ST maxx if not STT. I know exactly what you mean about the crosscontacts, great tyre, until they filled up. Thank you, I love this truck too, taken a while to get the right one, but once the truckman top is painted, I will be very happy with this one. Edit to say, just noticed you have a 130, now I'm jealous! Much love for your truck too!!! |

Is there any retro fitting kit available to allow the seats to be folded up or down on a more frequent basis? |

I have never seen one supacat, but if one is available then it would be very useful. This is the forum to find out if one exists..

Found an old post on here that suggested using wingnuts instead of nuts. Whilst that would work; I can't help thinking that there must be a better quick connector available. Does anyone know if it's possible to convert to the standard fittings used in a station wagon? |

Just out of interest Supacat, how does it work in a station wagon? My double cab has the handle to fold it down but I'm guessing the difference is a catch of some sort that the seat is secured into when in the upright position?

I'm sure my 130 seats are identical to the 110 Station wagon and the seat is held back by the mechanism controlled by the lever on the side of the seat

I'm in the same position as you - guessing really - looked at the station wagons in the past but not paid special attention to exactly how the the 2nd row seats fold. I'm assuming that the double cabs are just missing the catches on the upper rear and the internals/mechanism to connect the handle to the catch. Looking to use the space underneath the seats for secure additinal storage and I think the easiest way to manage this would be if the seats tipped forward. My second big assumption is that if you undo the two backrest bolts them the tipping mechanism underneath the seats works rather than the seats being fixed there as well? |

Yes if you undo the bolts they fold down flat, but when they are folded back up they don't stay rigid in place, they have a little play in they back and forth. This is why they are bolted in place. But a station wagons seats must have some mechanism in the little lever or in the back of the seat that keeps them rigid.

From this photo it looks like there is nothing on the seat back, so the locking mechanism must be to the rear of the seat base:

I unbolted the back rests on the rear seats in my double cab a couple of years ago.
Two advantages for me. 1. Nice flat load are inside if needed and (2) it stopped a really annoying squeak When the backs are upright and locked there is virtually no movement of the backrest at all. Bob - so yours has the locking/folding mechanism built in?
Mine is a MY13 and sadly doesn't. Digging around the LR media pack for the MY13 release stated: "The Station Wagon derivatives have a spring-assisted fold mechanism which helps when folding the seats and when carrying large or awkward loads. " This rather suggests it was deleted from the double cab variant. Can't think of any good reason other than cost; and hopefully the change is reversible with just a few missing parts. |

I'm in the same page as you Supacat, something little missing hopefully.
On another note, took the land rover for a proper play in the snow today, the new tyres performed extreamly well, never loosing grip and never without full control. Traction Control never needed as tyres handled it all. 10x better than the cross contacts. Pictures to follow soon |
