Well got the leather from FCX fitted and here's the pictures as promised, also another picture of the truck at home
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Also fitted some genuine LR seat covers on the rear seats to protect them, not the easiest to fit with the seats been bolted in place and not the quality I had hoped for with the price but they are good enough and will do the job. I don't sit in the back anyhow so won't worry me! Road trip around Scotland this week to really get to know her. Well got the truckman top fitted today, very happy with it, apart from truckmans not so deliberate mistake, can anyone spot it?
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge It's a world about the standard LR canvas that was on it from new, a lot more practical and secure. Got to say though, the truck look best with no back on at all.. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Also got the A-bar fitted but no pictures of that, we all know what they look like! Sparkylee, it's top quality stuff, really sets the cab off, especially if you have the leather and white stitching on the seats, just completes the look.

I think you can unbolt the back rests so they fold flat like the 110 SW I'm going to look at doing mine tomorrow I'll let you know how it goes It's good to be back from the dark side DC110 -2012 Black with black hood and black x-tech FFRR 4.2 vogue Renault traffic auto PT crusier convertible Laika x700 Motorhome |

It's more Storoway grey then Orkney grey, bit of difference but I quite like the contrast.
Yer just unbolt the seats and they fold forward, wasn't too much hassle to be honest, I must of been in a stroppy mood when I wrote that. You will need to make tiny holes in the covers to get the bolts back in, well thats how I did it anyhow, you cant tell or see them once the seats are back in place. And too be fair the quality is not bad now I have lived with them. Very waterproof and easy to wipe mud etc off. |

Well I haven't really gone mad yet with modifications to this land rover, I like the way it looks and so most planned modifications are small unnoticed ones, like audio upgrades etc.
Today was quite a big change though, new tyres. The Continental Crosscontact ATs I had on were excellent tyres and very comparable to BFG ATs, which are a good ball mark I think. Still as good as they were, I have found that with the way the fields (so bloody wet) that they were letting me down a bit, and although I had only been stuck once, they were really churning up the land with the effort required to keep them moving. I did fancy changing the wheels, but I could not find any that I preferred to the standard boosts. One of the thinks LR seem to do well is design alloys which suit defenders. I toyed with getting some twisted sport alloys, but I wasn't in love with them and for that amount of ££ I should of really been head over heels wanting them. So I've stuck with the standard boost and stuck some 265/75 BFG MTs on.. These tyre are really the bees knees, I've had them on a previous land rover and on a hilux I once had. They are very good in the sticky stuff and not at all noticeably louder than ATs on the road. Maybe fuel consumption will go down slightly but I didn't buy a land rover for its amazing fuel frugalness. The only other tyre I seriously considered was the Cooper ST or maybe the STT. But I love the looks of BFs and I know I like them so spent the extra for the name. Also considered getting some really cheap and chunky re moulds on steels and swapping over between summer and winter, but I payed a good amount of money for a truck with alloys so I'm keen on keeping them on. Plus I'm too lazy to swap tyres over when one tyre will do all year round. Only a couple of pics seen as we have seen them all before..! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Truckman have agreed to pay the cost of having the top resprayed the correct colour, after many phone calls and emails. There customer service has been good I must say. Although it should of been correct in the first place considering the price of it. But everyone makes mistakes I suppose!! Cheers for looking and reading my ramblings! WWA Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |
