Checked a few times, but has not come thru yet.... You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Seriously, I know nothing more than that occasionally somebody on here is giving a hint that a well known sponsor is working on it with JW Speaker, and some messages were given that they were about to announce these, but further it has remained really quiet.
Presume they are indeed working on it, but there must be some delays.... ![]() ![]() ![]() So I am waiting for news just like many others here.... Eric You never actually own a Defender. Well, it has indeed been a while now, but afraid we should not have high hopes. Back in february I heard the following from a source closest possible to JW Speaker....
QQ LED SVX high beam requires some heavy investment on tooling which is a decision we are yet to take as we are committed with some other projects currently also from last year. ^^ Good find. The website is kind of confusing. First it talks about a whole range of 90mm lights being available, including "high beam headlight", which is actually what we need for the SVX front, but if you then click to get more detail, it seems there is only a "fog light" version available.....
Maybe Brendan who is the Nolden supporter on here (yes Brendan, we all know that they are the best headlights ![]() As said before, I remain open for a plug 'n play high quality LED high beam 90mm lamp replacement for the SVX ![]() Eric You never actually own a Defender. Yes Eric the Noldens BiLed headlights are the best LED headlights that I am currently aware of
![]() Thanks for reminding everybody. ![]() What will be the best in two or three years time, who knows? I have actually compared the Nolden 90mm lights with the original Land Rover light a few months ago. The methods of attaching the different lights are completely different. I could not see an easy, cost effective method of getting the Nolden to fit in the SVX. Definitely not plug and play. Brendan |

the led units had it all built into them. 3 wires, earth, sidelight feed and ign 12v feed. They also come as an option tinted black (which is what these are) |

More or less one year later and fast approaching Xmas again.... So a little thread revival with the question essentially to our various sponsor lights specialists like Mobilecentre and others... Is there still hope that someone will develop a new - or adapt an existing - LED 90 mm aux high beam only driving lamp to make it fit in the SVX style front in replacement of the standard 90 mm halogen aux high beam lamp? Is someone like JW Speaker or other still working on this, or is the assumed target market too small to justify the engineering and manufacturing expense? While the combination of the JW Speaker EVOs (or Noldens/Trucklites for that matter) in combo with the standard 90 mm halogen high beam driving lamps are absolutely perfectly lighting up the road, surely many on here would remain interested in a full LED outfit for their SVX style fronts. Thought to ask the question once again now that Mobilecentre brought us the news of the EVO2. So is this a case of "hope springs eternal" and do we have to stand by, or is the matter outright dead in the water and buried for good? Eric You never actually own a Defender.
