ABS/TC lights on following CV swap
Hi All, could do with a bit of advice please!?

Myself and 'Rallysteve' did a swap of the CV joints on my 110 yesterday and I now have the ABS and TC lights on permanently having taken them out and replaced them during the process. We also fitted new pads at the same time and had to push the pistons back a fair bit......

2 questions

1 how deep should they be seated in the top of the hub carrier- mine protrude about 1-2mm between the top of the casting and the bottom of the flanged section of the sensor.

2 Does anyone with a a nanocom or hawkeye in South Yorkshire fancy giving it a talking to to see what the problem is?!

Many thanks in advance

Chris

They should be seated all the way home to make the gap as small as possible. Had issues myself with this. Thumbs Up

Thanks for that,

Essentially your saying they want to be all the way home?- ie the 'collar' on the top should sit flush with the top of the hub carrier rather than the 1-2mm gap I can currently see

We gave them a fair tap with a hammer and a suitable implement to knock them down- still seems to be a small gap- I will try and get a photo of it later, bit worried about causing damage if I tap them harder!

Many thanks again

Chris

The sensor needs to be in all the way into the hub. Did you also replace the bush?

There can be a couple of other causes for the warning lights after replacing CV joints:

Replaced with non ABS CV joints, (no notches cut into CV face)
Excessive end float
Issue with old to new harness connection Thumbs Up

CVs were definitely the ABS ones Laughing

We didn't replace the bushes- we did replace the seals though- are the bushes likely to be the root of the issue?

Thanks

Chris
