NFU - Nobody Can Touch Em
Just had the quote come though for a brand new 2011MY 110 DCPU XS. 18k miles a year, I'm 28 with 8 years no claims, no points, no convictions. Social, pleasure, domestic and commuting. Fully comp. Construction worker ~ £530 a year Thumbs Up

Adrian Flux along with the usuals on confused.com were well over £1k. Sainsbury's who insure my hot hatch declined as it's a commercial vehicle. Heritage Motor Co declined as the vehicle was too new and not "heritage". Swinton Commercial..... would have to remortgage the house to afford it Shocked So... NFU it is Mr. Green

Pence to pay monthly aswell. Not like these other rob dogs charging 25-30% apr Rolling Eyes

Haven't had cause to claim however my experience of my local branch has been exceptional; first name terms, very courteous, time taken to go through the policy in detail etc

I am paying the smallest amount for car insurance than I have ever done in my life! ever!

NFU aren't always the cheapest but by far the easiest to deal with if you go via your local branch. Premiums did go up last year... All my business and personal premiums went up by nearly 50%, and similarly for everyone I know that uses NFU.. Got them to refer back to their underwriters and hey presto back to a sensible level again.

It's true that they may not necessarily be the cheapest but the cover for my usage of my Defender is better than others. On a business policy I have cover for towing trailers, 3rd party cover to drive somebody elses car as long as it is insured and with permission(seems to have disappeared off a lot of other companies now), pay monthly for a very low charge and the staff at the local branch are there to talk to with some confidence. For me there are more plus points than to go with another company allthough I do keep an eye out come renewal time.

I found the same when the insurance came around for the 90, got a lump knocked off, still a little more than previous ears but not too bad.

Good to deal with, they know what a landrover is for starters! also didn't have a problem with 2" lift, disco transfer box, tdi conversion etc. cover also extends to off road use, presumably as they cover farmers and the like belting around the farm/ estate which others may not - worth checking Thumbs Up

110 due shortly so need to look at that's carefully, NFC were more expensive when I got initial quote on that, I'm currently running that on residue of privilege policy from d3 , so some quotes to be got in the next few weeks.

Probably location has a deal to do with it?

Just reinsured ours through Liverpool Victoria

110 2010 DC XS 12000 miles class 1 business use two drivers £330
90 Utility 2011 12000 miles class 1 business use two drivers £290

We are both in our early 40s no convictions, crimes etc and 7 years no claims

Really pleased with the price and service to date has been excellent

NFU would have been preferred choice as we're with them until last year but they still cannot get near LV Defender 110 Puma Utility XS

NOT convinced - just had a quote from NFU (who already have my business for house insurance!) and they were only a few quid short of DOUBLE the renewal price from Adrian Flux.

Both of us with full no claims, both around 40 and a rural postcode - NFU wanted the sort of price that I would expect to pay if I was 17, had claimed on my insurance and lived in an area of high crime.

I know where my business will stay.

NFU -No Fank U!

PS The chap on the phone's parting words were ' oh well maybe try again next year'............

Not long had my renewal notice with them, business use on my 110 and it's gone down by £25 from last year. Though there was a £90 increase last year! They said it was due to everybody else putting prices up Whistle
There were a few extra notes included in the guff they sent in the post along the lines of them dotting the "I's" and crossing the "T's"
I'm inclined to carry on with the cover, it does every thing I want it to do, I'm covered 3rd party if I drive something else with permission, I'm covered on towing(their recovery will now tow a trailer as well) etc. etc. and all for just over £25 per month.
