Same here, went from 550 a year to 680 on an FL2. The poor fella at the end of the line said that premiums had gone up by 15% in the past year. I questioned his maths, thanked him and baled out to Land Rover insurance (Lloyd Latchford IIRC). JB

Yes they can!!!
I've never paid anywhere near your amount for insurance on my Defender and that is with all the 'extras' declared too! Had a renewal quote for £545 this year from AF and nearly cracked a rib laughing as I thought it was a joke....Turned out it was.....
Social, pleasure, domestic and commuting. Fully comp. Marine Electrical Engineer. £310? Flux Direct which is a sister company of Adrian Flux came out best for me and when I queried it with Adrian Flux they cut me a deal. Always best to speak to someone in my book to drive the hardest deal and grab a more cost effective policy without compromising on what you want. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

It will be interesting when I receive the renewal through from the NFU in October.
I have just called them to advise that I have sold my 2.4 90 XS and that I am collecting my 2.2 90 XS tomorrow. They have advised that the premium is lower, and for the month that is left over, I am in credit by £5.78 - that must mean that the annual premium is going to be around £70 less than last year!? Will keep you posted. John. Currently....... all gone...... pending delivery of a mid life crisis....... Previously..... Quite a few! I really am a sucker for them! |

I think NFU must have had a review of their prices, I always get them to quote when I get a new Defender and they have always been one of the dearest, this time with the 130 they were the cheapest by quite a margin

NFU = No Ferking Use Insurance company.
You get robbed twice if you are with the No Ferking Use Insurance company. First by the lowlife scumbags, then by the slippery snakes at the No Ferking Use Insurance company. Have more then one item stolen at the same time then it is MULTIPLE claims on different policies. Which means you get hit by multiple excesses. Nice one! Now if someone from the No Ferking Use insurance companies say they will ring you back, I would strongly advise you do not hold your breath! So far we have transferred two of our policies from that Useless insurance company and have saved over £600+. Just need to shift a few more policies from them. We are expecting to save over a £1,000+ by time we have shifted all our policies. We do not mind paying extra IF we get good service, however pay a premium price and get bad service, then it is time to move on. Brendan |

I must say Leed's you must have been unlucky.
I have used them personally on & off for the past eight years on both vehicles & horses and they have always been very good, including claims. We have just started using them at work as quoted business premium of nearly half the competitors as we had had one very bad claim in the last insurance year. Existing insurer wanted to increase from £20k to £75k. Everyone else wanted circa £40k, NFU wrote the business at £24k - Obviously I'm getting your increased premiums knocked off mine Have just insured our vehicles as well so they got another £24k of business Lets hope they do good - If they do I'll let you know if they do not then ditto. 2020 P300 HSE |
