Hey Ken,

Great looking truck you have - can I ask where you got the rear carpet from? Presume it's not stock landrover as it runs up the inside panels. Looks great.

Thanks

Nath

Well the test fit for the ICE has gone well
Fitting the KIV-700 HU with all the extra RCA’s was fun and it’s going to have to come out again for the light bar install
As per the old Utility the rear cargo area has be sound proofed a bit different this time as I reverted back to the trusted Dynamat (seems to be making a comeback)
The method I employed was the floor and rear wheel arches are fully matted and the side panels (where the CW’s have glass) have 12 x 12 panels applied (enough to stiffen the panel)
The sides and Floor are now trimmed in sound deadening carpet
The OEM 10cm has at the front Focal 100KRS with the tweeters being replaced as part of the kit and the crossover being hidden behind the dash (gotta love black tack)
The rear apertures currently have “theloudest.co.uk” 300w 10cm co-axail units (these will be replaced with Focals in time
Also in the Back is a Focal Active Bomb & an Alpine 2ch Amp to Power the Rear RCA 6x9 TL2691’s in separate enclosures
Each Amp has a separate power feed
The initial set up sounds good will improve with a Focal upgrade
Now to route cables neatly
A point to note correct sound proofing will keep the sound in unlike the Essex Gary boys corsa’s
Pics when completed Thumbs Up

You're getting good at these write ups Ken Thumbs Up

Two questions, do you rate the Focal 10cm speakers over the Loudness ones as I'm about to sort the front out and which brand / supplier did you use for the acoustic carpet please ?

Matt

Focal gives a Crisp Hi and Mid so great if you supplement with a Sub

if no Sub then Loudest are suitable

Carpet from Car Audio Direct no real reason other than it was in stock Thumbs Up

Thanks Ken,

At the 'back end' I was thinking of the Loudness 6x9 Component speakers (TL2691) run from one of their 4 channel amps bridged (TL2904) with a Kenwood KSC SW01 150watt 'powered sub' - at the front end I was going to go for the Loudness 4" components but now I'm undecided ...

Now you've seen the rest of my proposed set up would you still go for the Focal at the front ?

TBH The Focal Tweeters at the front with the 10cm speakers make it for me

But sound stages are very personal I feel
