HID brands
Hi Chaps
I was looking at a local supplier of HID kits. There don't seem to be many choises here.
On their brochure they don't actually state the brand name but when I zoomed in on the picture I saw what looks like "well done Auto HID Xenon Conversion kits"
Any comments on this brand?
Thanks

The best kits ive seen are braded "Virtual Daylight"

You need to make sure you order the H4 Hi Lo version then you will have HID on the main and dip beams for the H4 bulb patern.

There are many ob ebay that do the same thing but the quality on some is lacking.

regards Pete

Hi guys,

Are HID kits road legal? I don't know why but I thought new MOT regs were ceasing their application. Be great to know if this isn't the case by more informed people. Thanks Nath

Providing you have the corret lense (clear lense with the beam deflector in the back) like the Wipac.

-Auto height correction.

-Headlight washers.

-Which the Defender has none of them as standard, but can be fitted.

When I finish work I will post a picture of one of the HID kits out here which made me chuckle.

There is no 7" ECE approved lamp on the marked for HID including any of the Wipac range as they are approved for use with a H4 halogen bulb so that is all you can legally put in it.

In certain cases neither washing or levelling is required but correct road approval is.

The same applies to putting LED bulbs into incandescent enclosures.

Don't think Capelandy will care, in S.A. the car only have the equivalent of an MOT when the car is sold to a new owner. Most of the cars out there have more problems than the wrong bulbs. Whistle
