Had the same problem. Thought about using a piece of wire as in Range Rover Classic.

What type of spray glue are you using I have found big differences between them.

used Evo Stick spray can that says it can stick to metal, paint and take heat. BM52

Try something sillygoon based such as No Nails or one of the builders merchants ones, I tried a clear one from Wicks for various jobs, including ceramic to ceramic, metal to plaster etc. He who dies with the most toys wins Defender 90 & 110, S1 80", Disco 1, S111 88 LRSOC & CVLRC |

Know what you mean - mine is currently in the garage after falling off for the third or fourth time. Last time glue literally melted and the cover dropped on me whilst checking fluids in Morocco Tony |
