I've done numerous disc braked axle swaps onto 90's, mine and friends.
I've always just fitted the axle and connected the flexi pipe up, and left it at that. never touched any proprtioning valves (some have had them fitted, some earlier models didn't) and they all braked just fine, passed the MoT's, and didn't try to swap ends when you brake hard (the rear pads are quite a lot smaller than the front, and only twin piston per caliper so a lot less braking force compared to the front) |

i have done about 4 conversions like this and have done the same as Jamie, all work fine as is.
