I got the new bumper a couple of months ago, and I am very pleased with the build, looks and the thick powder coating. The Puma has been abused lately what with being in the sea and through gorse and heather plus the farm work ending up with the resulting paint scratches along the Pumas body, however the bumper and steering guard show no signs of damage and seem to deflect stone chips with ease! The bumper is a straight swap for the piece of crap LR fit as standard and comes with stainless fittings plus both plastic and delric isolators to stop galvanic corrosion between the Aluminium, Stainless steel and the chassis rail steel. First job was to remove the radiator grill to expose the 4 mounting bolts holding the original bumper in place, once these were removed the old bumper was removed. The Entreq bumper does not have the securing nuts fitted to the bottom of the bumper as the OEM one does, instead you are supplied with two plates which go underneath the Entreq bumper to secure the mounting bolts. This then when tightened squeezes the bumper onto the chassis rails giving a very secure clamp fit. The fitting kit consists of 4 x stainless bolts, 4x plastic collars, 6 x delric flat spacers and a tube of copperslip. I offered up the bumper to the chassis rails and placed one of the flat spacers between the bumper and chassis rail, I then slid in one of the mounting bolts with a plastic collar fitted, this collar is the exact size for the holes cut into the top of the bumper. The next part was tricky, I needed to place a spacer on the inside of the bumper were it meets the chassis rail then another between the bumper and the bottom mounting plate, and the holes need to match up to get the bolt through and into the mounting plate. I tried doing it by aligning the holes and then dropping both bolts in, but this was not a good idea as everything kept moving. So in the end I just aligned everything for one bolt and once that bit into the mounting plate I just teased all the spacers so that the second bolt went in and bit. Leaving the side I just did loose, I then went on and repeated the process for the other side. Once all 4 bolts where in it was just a case of lining the bumper up with the wings and tightening the bolts. Once it was where I wanted it I undone 1 bolt at a time and covered it and the threads in Duralac. Once that as done it was just a case of refitting the radiator grill and the number plate. I did not want to drill the bumper to mount the plate so just used the double sided plate tape and the number plate has not moved since.

I am thoroughly delighted with Entreqs bumper and think it looks the DB's on my Puma, especially with the Entreq steering guard also fitted. Once again Entreq has excelled in my opinion on design, build and quality of their products, and I am one very happy and delighted customer. IMHO, you get a thoroughly well designed and finished product from Entreq that is well worth the price tag. Worth considering when the current (original) one get's tatty. Thanks for sharing Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Entreq do indeed make fantastic gear. I have some of it fitted to my Defender. At nearly £714 for the bumper I would expect nothing else but Rolls Royce quality and from your experience it looks like you got just that! It does look great too! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Very smart. Love all that internal bracing. Almost worth hanging it back to front so it can be seen.

Shame Entreq don't make defenders really, not that we would be able to afford them mind.

Sorry, i think defender bumpers should be "square"; tapered ends and rounded edges make it look like a Santana PS10

Agree, not gone on it at all, although I'm sure the build quality is excellent, pity they don't have one the same shape as original. |

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion
I personally love it, which is just as well considering it is fitted to my Puma.
Don't own a hilift jack as IMHO they are too unstable I do however have airbag jacks should the need arise. |

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there are some round jacking points under those rectangular rubber bits on the front of the chassis, and you can get a hi lift adaptor so you could use them, rather than the bumper (not sure a standard LR bumper would take the weight, although I may be wrong there)
Nice looking bumper, looking forward to the next add on DJ 1989 200tdi 90 csw 2011 110 usw Orkney grey Buy British 🇬🇧 Defender Clothing Designs available at http://www.rangesports.com/acatalog/Defender-Stuff.html |

Cheers DJ There are holes under those rubber covers on each chassis rail, though fitting the Entreq steering guards recovery points, would restrict the depth of any hilift attachment due to the location of one of the mounting bolts.

Entreq gear is top, top quality
Design and aesthetitics can be a matter of personal opinion. Personally, I prefer tapered bumpers which sits on top of the chassis legs as it gives much better approach angle. Especially if it is winch equipped. Yes it does leave the front bottom corner of the wings vunerable to damage. Having seen the quality of the Entreq bumper, I can confirm it is top quality. Olaf at Entreq certainly pays close attention to detail. Yes it is a premium product and that sort of quality will not come cheap. So if you want the best top quality equipment to fit to your Defender then Entreq sets the standard for top quality equipment. Brendan |
