I have a Motorhome based on a 2010 Transit so has the 2.2 engine. There's a bug in the current ECU software that means if it's started without the glow plugs going out it logs a fault and the check light comes on. Whilst I await Ford to release a new version, if I forget and start her, I have to take it back to Ford to clear the fault.
Loaned the Motorhome to the girlfriends father and he forgot and it came back with the light on. Not wanting to take it to Ford, I thought I'd try a Bluetooth OBD reader, this one; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221067266393?ssP...1439.l2649 I used it on my Galaxy S3 (Android phone) with Torque - http://torque-bhp.com Works a treat! So I thought I'd bung it on the Puma and yep, also works. ![]() Click image to enlarge You can read the codes and clear them, but also has other features like real time stats. There's no faults logged on the LR, so can't show you that, but here it is reading the status. ![]() Click image to enlarge Here's a shot of one of the realtime graphs ![]() Click image to enlarge Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but I thought I'd share as for less than £15 I've now got a reader/clearer for any car thats obd2 compliant. Sorry, forgot to mention, my Puma is a 2.4 not a 2.2 and yes it does clear faults.
Anybody know the easiest way to cause a fault? Unplug EGR????? I want to light the check light and then prove it'll clear the fault. It clears the fault fine on my Motorhome (Transit 2.2) Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

Mine was £10.50 too, brilliant price. You need to purchase Torque at £1.50 as well, although there is Torque lite, but not sure on the functionality.
If anyone is also wondering, it took 2 days to arrive. EDIT: Although you do get a disk with it, so Torque might be on it, but suspect it's not the full version and you won't be able to get the updates. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

I have downloaded the software that was on that eBay link, but not tried it yet. Also downloaded Torque, which has some amazing features. Can wait to get the OBD reader...

Those ODB readers are quite good (Mine is USB connected).
I have one since 1 year and can clean all the faults and keep statistics of my Puna and any other car post 1990. I use it to detect my EGR problem (stuck sometimes in closed position) and clean the fault when its needed. Not sure what istore is (is that Apple..?). I think the app is only for Android phones (mines a Samsung Galaxy SII).
Here's a web link to it... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details...WVmcmVlIl0 |

Torque is an Android only app, there is an iOS app called iODB2 that's free in the app store, can't tell if it works with a bluetooth adapter. |

I got one of these a while back and it stopped working after 2 months, the LED is still lit, but I cannot connect.
The Torque website seems to suggest that these ebay cheapy bluetooth adapters are a bit hit and miss. Unfortunately, the ones they do recommend are around £200. |
