England 2003 Defender 90 Td5 HT Rutland Red
Spot / fog light switches
I need to switch on some spots and was going to buy the Front Fog switch for a Td5 dash - YUG000540LNF.
The price of the switch is now £49 - last year I bought one for about £8

The rear fog switch is still £9 - YUG000530LNF
Can I use this switch to turn on LED spots ?
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this switch?

Just found out that the front switch is a latching switch
The rear fog switch is a momentary on which switches an ECU connection
So I guess the answer is no I can not use the rear switch to control Spot Lights
Would the rear demist switch work ?
Any other ideas or do I have to spend the £50

It could then fit behind the wiper stalk like in the Tomb Raiders - mine is wired up so that when off, the spots are off, but when its on the spots only work with the main beam.
I can try and grab a photo if it makes it clearer Thumbs Up

They would do the job
Is there enough room in the stalk for it to fit ? A photo would be good.

I like the fact that the genuine Land Rover part is £100 and the Allmakes is only £10

There you go... Thumbs Up

Looks like there is a fair bit of space still there (although it seems all LR's are made differently (!)).
The steering column has (by the looks of it) had a hole drilled through the plastic for the extra switch, but this is covered by the rubber grommet that comes with the switch

It may be worth a chat with Andrew @ Defender Bits as he seems to stock a similar item and may be able to help...

Although my one only has 2 options (on/off) but the above are (sidelight,headlight/off) it would seem (!)

What about a simple Carling switch? Devon 4x4 have them on the shelf.

Carling switch are a different size.
We have some genuine switches down at our lockup.

That extra switch is available in 3 or 2 positions... 3 position for off/side/main beam, the 2 position ones were also used in early 90/110s for the rear fog lights, so the icon on the plastic "lever" bit is slightly different.
