Dixon Bate adjustable towhitch - Advice
I was given a DB adjustable hitch that was originally fitted to a 110 3.5 v8 LHD circa 1989
The one that was on mine was a home made version (I think) this one used the six holes in the x-member and underneath it was fixed with 2 x 17mm or 19mm nuts fitted through section of right angle which was attached the to main plate on the tow-bar.
The DB one attaches using the lower of the six bolt holes and using 2x24mm nuts
The angle iron section attached to the back of the hitch now sits about 5mm below the x-member and the bolt holes don't line up with the original holes apart from the middle hole.
Have I fitted this wrong? Is the DB not compatible with my x-member/TD5 ? Or am I missing a couple of spacer and need to drill some new holes in the x-member and fit some bolts?

I found out that the part number on the hitch is a pre 1999 model and as such has different mountings compared to that of a 1999 Defender. My part number is 202023 and then one I need is 2020471999 Defender TD5 110
