as of late, my car has been doing all sorts... electrical..
the general is to do with lights on board systems etc, i think maybe there is something up with a door and where the switch meet.. can be driving along at night and both interior lights will start flashing on / off when i walk away from it and lock it up, the alarm either goes off straight away or gives two beeps - if i unlock it and lock it again it works fine... anybody got any ideas? |

Hi usually garaged at my house but when at our other house it has to be left outside
Other house being in the lakes, very wet... Has minor modifications to the electrics, heated door mirrors, and washer lamp things.. Did have the full bulkhead replaced about 2 weeks ago... Maybe this has something to do with it, land rover had it for four weeks while they did it... |

Sounds like the door micro switch is earthing out intermittently, this would cause the interior lights to flash, the alarm to not set correctly as the door is seen as not closed and then give spurious alarms when it does set. I believe the alarm will use the interior light coming on as the sensor for if any door is opened. Darren

Correct. The door switches are part of the alarm circuit. if you had the bulkhead replace under warranty, leave your truck with the dealer until they have finished the job properly

Includes your back door and bonnet (but don't think the bonnet will activate light ![]() ![]() Sit in the car and close all doors- make sure light is out- then give the doors a wiggle.... if the light comes on it is that door switch. If it doesn't at any point it is something deeper........ earthing out somewhere on the bulkhead. As for the beeps- If you leave a door open and try to lock the truck, the horn will beep twice to tell you something isn't right..... I have done it a couple of times where the missus is taking her time getting out- she then thinks it is the truck hurrying her on!! ![]() Glyn ![]() ![]() |
