Is it actually activated? It's my understanding that you can isolate the alarm with the likes of the plug-ins such as nanocom.

+1 it has probably been deactivated with a nanocom or similar, you will have to activate it the same way again Augusto

hi guys, thanks for the info, does this mean it can only be re-activated with a Nanocom? the technician was using a Land rover TEST BOOK i believe, so thought this would do the job

Yes. I've enabled mine which was shipped without the alarm option n I've added in by soldering the cdl relay to lock the doors. There are many options and setting in the 10as which can stop a td5 from starting and baffle those at the dealership.
So in short, a nanocom is what you need. This is the affordable option, the test book is not something the common mankind has access to. Just a thought.... could the previous owner had an issue with one of the door or bonnet switches that would cause the alarm to think offending door or bonnet wasn't shut???
As a lazy/cheap work around, they just disabled the 'mis-alarm' setting on the 10AS instead of fixing the problem.....??? @tazmarkuk ..... I'm in Buckingham area and have a working alarm and Td5 Nanocom. I'm by no means an expert but if you are in the area, we could always hook the nanocom up to both trucks and compare my 10AS settings to yours... Could be a good place to start.... Although I'd take Ian (Porny) up on his kind offer as he's a heck of a lot nearer to you and will have forgotten far more than I know ![]() |

When I bought my 04 Td5 110 the previous owner had the Alarm & Immobiliser deactivated, his thinking was that if he had a key fob issue he would be able to get in & start it with the key. The central locking would work with the fob, but not the alarm.
I went along with that reasoning but when I bought a nanocom I was easily able to reactivate the Alarm & immobiliser. Re Party Monkeys thoughts, I haven't tried but looking at the Nanocom Evo menus I think you can turn off individual alarm inputs (door switches) |

Door switches have only 2 inputs.
Driver door and all other doors, regardless of the number of doors on your truck. You can however disable the alarm but use the cdl. You can even enable auto relock if you accidentally unlocked n didn't open the doors after 1minute! Really a whole lot of options for the 10as. So make the most of it!
