He knew it was working because he could not keep up with it on the steep twisty roads with his TD5 Hence he takes delivery tomorrow morning of a shiny new 110 csw

If you didn't notice in the cab, I wonder whether it is related to the alarm (several flashes of the indicator to say it is on).
Did it ever to a long continuous flash (as when you unlock)? One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

Is it under heavy braking?
Some cars flash the hazards when you really stand on the brakes. Steve |

some cars have brake assist and cruise control. we're talking about a defender here One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS + New Defender 110 First Edition |

It only happens under normal driving conditions and there is no sign of it happening in the cab

It could have been Steve suffering from altitude sickness causing him to see orange flashy lights.

Mine did it once or twice during last winter, but in my case I could tell it from the cab, while the arrows on the dash flashed.
