As above .. compomotive 16 x 8.5 ... not OE but a dam fine after market wheel.
I have the 16 x 7 versions Click image to enlarge Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant. |

The ones in the OP and on the red 110 are the same as mine - of which I have a full set for sale once I've cleaned them up a bit! The ones on the grey defender are not quite the same - they seem to me to be the rounder more curved version, whereas the others are the flatter ones. I think!! ?
(the OP ones and on the red have a flat slightly dished in profile whereas the ones on the grey are rounded and not dished) |

Not sure Jim - I'm hoping to sell them with the tyres on though, which are 225/65 16 Pirelli ATRs with a decent amount of tread left (theyve only done about 22k miles).
I know we are supposed to put a price on adverts on this forum but tbh i'd not thought about a price yet and wanted to give them a clean before photos for a For Sale advert - just coincidence this thread came up! If interersted pm me with an offer! Cheers,. |

If they are genuine LR they will almist certainly have thepart number cast into the back of one of the spokes (every other genuine LR wheel, steel or allow, I have ever looked at has had the PN on it somewhere).

I doubt they are eight and a half inch Compomotives if they have 225's on. More likely they may be genuine seven inch Land Rover ones, free styles I think

I never said mine were 8.5 ....... But they are the same style as the red 110.....even if not the same size.
Mine are indeed 16x7 and Compomotives, and obtained through Land Rover parts as I recall. I think the rounder non dished ones are the freestyles. Bit confusing as the names seem to be interchanged as the wheels look very similar but are subtlety different! We had a P reg Disco with the same wheels on and when we put my Defender together in 2003 we decided to get the same as they looked nicer the the Freestyles that were more usual on Defenders at that time. |

Sorry I didn’t click you were referring to the style and not the size.

None of the wheels pictured in this thread so far are factory-fitted LR wheels, there was a dealer option which looked like them though.
Genuine LR Tornado wheels look like this: 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW Last edited by Martin on 11th Jul 2012 11:01am. Edited 1 time in total |

As far I'm aware Freestyles were also genuine LR and they are not the same as Tornadoes. As with the 2 types above, there were a number of alloys available from both Land Rover and aftermarket around the Late 1990s/early 2000s that were similar but subtlety different!!
(ps. Sorry I didn't make it clear about my wheel size before, ) |
