IIRC a number of aftermarket companies sold Freestyle copies called Firestyle.

There are numerous 'close copies' of genuine wheels about - lots of 'almost' Boosts about at the moment. John

OK, been outside to check. My wheels are conveniently off the vehicle so I can check the insides.

They have a Land Rover Part No. - STC8126 and were made on Day 5 of the 10th Month of 2000.

"Freestyle" was the alloy wheel option available on Defenders - and was Tornado style on 90 and Deep Dish style on 110, until the introduction of the Boost wheel in 2002(?)

What I mean by genuine LR was factory fit, I've edited my post - there was a flatter type of 5 spoke as in these photos available as a dealer fit option IIRC.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Pam, yours are genuine wheels, shown as Sports alloy wheel, 90 in the year 2000 accessories brochure.

There is a Freestyle wheel also shown for the 90 which looks wider - part number ANR5307MNH Freestyle alloy wheel, 90

ANR3631MNH is the part number for the Deep dish alloy wheel which was the option for the 110.

The options lists show a Freestyle option for both 90 and 110 Defenders, however the Freestyle 90 choice is the Freestyle wheel and the Freestyle 110 choice is the Deep dish. Landrover didn't offer the Freestyle wheel as an option for the 110 which leads me to assume it was only approved / rated for a 90. John

Correct John - as I said above "Freestyle" was the name of the overall alloy wheel option, Tornado style for 90 (not weight approved for 110) and Deep Dish for 110.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Hopefully this will help, I've scanned the pages from the brochures. As Martin says - the 90 option is called the Tornado in the second scan.

Thanks John Smile

Thinking deeper, I recall these were referred to as "TWR" alloys, particularly when on the original Range Rover.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
