130 drop plate on a 110...yes/no?
I'm considering trying to source and use a 130 drop plate on my 110. My current set-up on allows for one bike to be carried on the bike-rack. This is due to the wheel robbing a fair portion of the extension bar on the rack. In fact i had to modify it a tad just to fit the one bike. Borrowed this extension piece from the parts bin at my local indy dealer. Q: would the correct 130 drop plate work and be correctly valued to tow with as well? Does anyone know the length of the extension that is gained with the 130 drop plate? If all is ok then i'm looking forward to considering a thurle towball jobbie. (anyone have experience of these...)

(sorry can't answer for question)

Could you post the whole set up? i too have a defender with wheel on the back door and I'm a keen mountain biker (bike is on the back of car about 5 times a week) and looking at better alternatives to my current set up..

cheers

I have a pendle, the good thing about pendle is, I had the two bars that come out of the towbar bracket for a 4 bike rack, but I only have 2 bikes on, this gives me the clearance for the tyre, plus loads of room for 2 bikes without them all being stuffed together which avoids scratching...

So, to re-cap, you could ring pendle, ask for a 2 bike wheel support rack, but send the 2 bars for a 4 bike Thumbs Up

noted...it is a lash up of two parts. the spacer is from a dixon bate product. i'll turn it around tomorrow and see how that works. still feels 'work in progress'...

i like proper OEM stuff (read normally more expensive Laughing )

I personally would like to see the tow ball bolts going all the way through to the drop plate, so the welds are not the part taking the full trailer load.

I presume that is what is in the tubes on a 130?  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
