Bl$$dy hell nothing is ever simples !!
On the plus side the engine does seem to be running better (but still too early to draw to a conclusion) however coming home tonight saw worse case ever (and seems to have been getting slowly worse) of clutch slip / judder. Not sure if you know what I mean but its something i've only ever experienced in a diesel. You slowly pull away from stand still but the car / clutch / g box judders big time. A bit like when you wheel spin in a car with crap suspension and it tramps up and down. ? Aaaaaaaah ! |

I'll have a look and suspect you might be right but only very slightly......
I've noticed a slight juddering when slowing down but it's never bothered me enough to worry about it (compared to rough / smooth engine its really not an issue - however like you say might be worth doing / checking just to eliminate.........) I just need to do a search now to find out how / where to adjust ..... |

NOPE !
bloody ironic - the car is going in for a load of work next week (apart from this issue) and hey presto the car seems to be running well most of the time now. the ONLY thing I can think of is that the last two occasssions I've had to add fuel I've not added a full tank? I normally brim it but not the last two occasions but can't really see how this would make ANY difference. the dealer ship know I'm not happy so they are gonna have a look into it for me while doing everything else. I really would love to drive a few other non modified cars cos when mine is running well its exactly how I would expect a modern diesel engine to be and if I'm honest quite quick enough and smooth enough. that said I'd still consider a remap poorly for the improved mpg. ask me the same question in about 1 month when I get it back. (should be almost a new car by then) |

Just for a try, years ago we used to have a box of tricks called an obd data logger. All you had to do was plug it into the eobd port and take the car for a drive, it would automatically download all avaible ecu parameters on to it so when you got back to the work shop you could up load it to a laptop and view selected parameters in live all be it recoded time so you could rerun your drive and check your read outs you never know you might spot some thing they might have missed or something unique to your driving style that may or may not be causing an issue.
We still use something similar now it gives real time traces via a laptop its great for fuel pressure faults, especially if your apprentice is good at watching a screen. |

It's in for a new turbo at the moment so once this is completed hopefully there'll be no need to monitor the engine as suggested but sounds good all the same.

Suspense is killing me.....
All fixed but I can't get to collect at the moment. Will update you once I've picked up. Going back to the wiring loom how do you differentiate between old and newer extended loom for turbine actuator? Many thanks |

Just look for the new ferrite fuse and new cable ties, electrical tape/shrinkwrap.

Lorryman100.....
I reckon if I have anymore questions I'll simply send them to you as you seem to have all the answers thank you. and so for my next question; I don't have my def at the moment to check but I'm 99.9% certain that my wiring is not a per the photos...... shall I be asking for this to be rectified? def is still at stealers awaiting for me to collect .... assuming I should ask them to fix the loom how should I word it......should this be something they should have done as a recall? I might break the good news to them tonight via email many thanks. |
