350 miles to date - gear selector temporarily U/S - ideas?
Having driven 10 miles from home this morning I was approaching an uphill T-junction when I disengaged gear but couldn't re-select any gear from neutral. Came to a halt, no joy, rolled back whilst attempting to select any gear, no joy, disengaged transfer box, rolled back, engaged transfer box and could then select a gear. No grinding at any point.

Annoying and so far it's a one-off but not inspiring given the vehicles total mileage of 350 miles. Worried it occurs whilst mid way across a busy crossroads.

Any ideas as to the root cause? Gear selector?
