I brought some to add security to the bonnet, I drilled the holes in my bonnet and wings and fitted them but all they did was push the bonnet forward in the hinges causing the latch at the front to be out of line and needing the bonnet pushing back to latch, so I removed them again, Im thinking of fitting better hinges before trying to fit the struts back on. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

they are good if your lazy and cba to lift the bonnet one of the local landys nuts fitted them to his 90 good idea but now the bonnet sits well high up and you can see straight through instead of the bonnet closing nicely against his upper wing

I've got a handfull of struts at work if anyone wants them. (about 6 I think at the moment)
I'll measure them today, but they're about the right size (they come off of old fruit machines that we've scrapped; they hold the front glass door "up" when you're working on them. Some have the end ball joints, some not, so you'd have to cobble something up. Anyway, they're free and in Swindon if anyone wants. |

When they say call for a price that seems to me like saying they're too expensive to list the price on the site so phone up and we can really sell them to you for said high price.

You could avoid this problem by fitting them the other way round, i.e., the end of the strut that is attached to the bonnet is nearer the windscreen than the end of the strut attached to the wing end when the bonnet is shut. |
