All the interminable keyboard bashing has crippled your right hand Zag. Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

NO! I'm the same! 6' 1", seat as far back as it will go to the bulkhead (I've got a hard top), standard wheel, etc. I actually find it suprisingly comfortable on long journeys. I can't get comfy in any other car now if the seat is as far back as it will go - that used to be the first thing I'd do before, slide it back as far as it will go!
Andrew Lloyd Webber?! Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

I'm also 6' 1", just under 14 stone, and managing fine with the standard set-up. I've done a few journeys of over 200 miles, and it's been OK so far.
We're hoping to attend one of the LRO shows, to find some Leather/heated seats (mine's a County), maybe with adjustable lumbar support. However, no probs with the overall driving position. If anything I find the handbrake in a slightly awkward position, so will probably upgrade that onec out of warranty (some really good conversions are available, incl the ones raised by ibexman and bpman). Bizarrely MrsK is 5' 2" (and a petite size 8-10) and finds the Defender seats less comfy than I do (having said that she also finds the seats uncomfy in her Evoque...and almost any other seat on the planet gets the odd negative comment as well...except my Volvo whose seats are luxury personified...women... )... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Not just you Zag, I am also 6' (not skinny either) and have no problems...... Elbow to window problem- If you have this problem you are most certainly not a true Land Rover driver!!! My elbow always has more than enough room. Land Rover drivers do it with the window open . Glyn |

all the things I thought might be an issue - turning circle, elbow room etc are no problem and the ergonomics of the Defender for me are spot on.
I do wonder if a smaller diameter steering wheel might improve things as there's a lot of arm twirling with that big hula hoop of a standard wheel |

get a spinner for the wheel. It also makes 3 point turns a doddle.
