Actually, that's one core thing: why not get the engineers to design it? Form follows function. That would be more true to the Defender's roots.

Dont forget its a concept

This has been repeated quite often in the argument, but many recent concepts have ended up looking quite close to the final product.

With the amount of material LR is putting out, I think that is what will be the case here. Though it is very weird to be showing a short wheelbase version when the majority (by far) of Defenders sold outside the UK are 110s. For good reason, too.

I'd say the 110 sells better in the UK as well, based on what one sees out and about on the roads, the 90s really are quite tiny by modern standards.

Well I actually don't mind it, it's just not a defender and it's more like too many other vehicles (see Skoda Yeti for details) to have any real "character".

My Concept remark was in reply to the comment about the front recovery points.

Long wheelbase version to follow, the Discovery may also be replaced as well I.e defender and Disco both go.
Freelander, rangie sport and full fat to get 7 seats, Dc will be poverty spec on coils as a base/farmer/ builder spec up to a more sophisticated version for the leisure market, leather, air, auto etc.

Defender will be made for the scumbag 3rd world/people that can't move with the times market and made in Inda to a price alongside its sister vehice, the Tata Censored flap. You cannot teach stupid people to do clever things

??? how racist is that, calling 3rd world people scumbags.

Opposition to the Dc100 is nothing to do with not moving with the times, I said myself time after time that the Defender needs an update, but the DC100 is Censored , please just realise that everyone else thinks that, thousands of people can't be wrong, even Landrover are going away and having a re-think, and not before time!
