Sounds flippant I know but why not just slip it out and have a look? From memory they are flat but I can't be 100%.

I haven't because I don't have the right tools - and my local Halfords haven't got any. Is there something I can make up to slip it out?

I wouldn't try a home made way of getting it out been there tried that and failed! Ebay would be good and cheap. you just need a two pronged realease keys. should be very cheap. For memory pins are flat |

hi haworthj
I had a standard LR (with jack) radio/cd and replaced with CD, nothing required - straight swap the only thing you have to do is remove little metal flanges on the left and right of the standard radio/cd apature / hole... you'll see what I mean when you take the radio out make sure you flash the unit... I have my leads all routed through to the dash-top glove box ... no drilling required. Asteroids - they take a little while to master but are great units Click image to enlarge |

The stereo plug on all the Defender are ISO (International Organisation for Standardization). This means it falls in line with all main car stereo manufacturers.
You will find that all major car stereo companies' products will plug straight in. Glyn |

Sometimes the +12 accessory and +12v Perm lines are swapped... You'll soon know when you turn the radio off.. ... ,-------, .. I [__][_]|__ .. I __ |"_|"__| .. "(o)====(o)" ^^_-^-_^-^_^^^^^--^^^^ PAUL G7ALW 14.200 USB 26FB458 / 27.275 SSB |

Not sure what the wire colours will be, but they are A4 and A7 on the plug...
