The problem with fitting them on the rear crossmember on a 110 is that they're so far away from the wheels that they don't work. That's probably why they were moved forward in the first place. I've got to wonder whether Land Rover have done something to the wing material on later vehicles - either the material composition or thickness. I recently removed and re-fitted the rear mudflaps on my nearly 7 year old 110 and there's no sign of any problem with the wing. I don't remember it being an issue on my 1982 Stage 1 either ![]() 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? Don't think it is all that bad on recent models. My SVX is 3.5 years old, has 56.000KM of which 1/3 on highway at 120km/hr speeds. And no sign of damage whatsoever. I will put the Entreq reinforcements just as a precaution now, but wonder if the damage that many of us are speaking of is not more related to rough usage, off-roading, etc.

Would be a legal issue by moving the flaps further back? I would not like to throw stones and chips to the cars behind (if any).
Also in 90"īs the mud and stones should hit the inside of the back panel and lights ![]() ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later |

Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa ![]() ![]() I went to fitting the Entreq mudflap reinforcements today, left side first, which indeed was as I said, not the slightest sign of damage, bended aluminium or whatever. So fitting the reinforcement was a straightforward precautionary job, and I did not bother to drill the 2 new holes as Zag has suggested. Then to my surprise, the right side was an outright mess, underside bended and sheared metal, but with the mudflap bracket still in place. Took me a while to put everything in shape again, then repainted a few tiny damaged spots, with a bit more difficulty installed the Entreq reinforcement, but obviously this side I had to drill the 2 extra holes. ![]() Not sure what this is all about, the left side is as new as ex factory, the right side pretty bad. Why this difference, have no idea. ![]() ![]() ![]() http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Finally got round to installing my Entreq mud flap brace - just as well as one side was beginning to deteriorate. This is a useful mod - recommended.
