Had mine updated the other day and didn't notice much if anything at all...any thoughts from anyone else who has had it done. 60k km service, maybe the third update.

It does make me chuckle when people rush off to get the latest software upgrade from the Dealers! Invariably in my opinion the 'eagerness' to have it done is twofold: 1. It's free and 2. They expect their Defender to have the performance characteristics of a space rocket afterwards! Having had historical upgrade issues in the past my ethos is 'If it ain't broke don't fix it!' The next owner of my vehicle can have the updates installed if they so wish! Also once your ECU's available slots are clogged with upgrades who is going to shell out for a replacement, certainly not the dealers? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Just to clarify...I wasn't the one rushing off to get it done, although I can see your point. When in for the 60km check, the dealer put it onor upgraded....never have I expected my 110 to go like a rocket ship, although it does go pretty good. With the upgrade slots youmention...I am under the impression that it is a computer upgrade, not an actual plug in...am I mistaken? 2008 Defender 110 60 year Edition (sold unfortunately)
