No! The ad was edited in February 2012 as being sold, so they went the same day they were posted. Thumbs Up If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Dodged a bullet there. Not the best material to be holding to change gear. The lack of pattern parts from the aftermarket suppliers suggest most Defender owners agree.

Mmmmhhhhh.... what do I think about this comment? Rolling with laughter

Thumbs Up You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Sorry if my comments reflect badly on your personal preferences.

I can understand it if you have an svx and it came as standard but not going out of your way to get one.

I have another vehicle with said alloy knob and having driven that for 12 years in both freezing cold and high summer heat I feel more than able to comment on it's complete lack of suitability for the task.

It now wears an Innocenti smoothy hat all year round. Thumbs Up

If they did carbon fibre ones that could save me 500 grammes that might be a different matter Rolling Eyes

How did you manage to do that? Shocked
The SVX Ltd Edition and their purpose designed/produced gear- and transfer alu box knobs were produced in 2008 only, which according to my calculator makes them max about 7 years old only. Cool You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

guessing another car not a defender

supacat I have to agree having driven cars with ally knobs , red hot in the summer freezing cold in the winter

sorry but no way would I pay 500 quid for that ( not even 5 quid Rolling with laughter )

I can understand if you got a svx and keep it as standard , but as a mod to standard one not for me

Wouldn't be so bad but it's not even tasteful. It's just chavvy bling!

I had a 110 TD5 that the previous owner had put alloy gear and diff lock knobs in. That was a 2006 so they have been around for sometime. They were back to original within a week!

That's what makes the Defender so unique.....when everyone is driving round in ballpark £30k plus vehicles with Austin Allegro lamp and indicator stalks, damp footwells, rattles and sqeaks and you're talking about cold hands in Winter when changing gear and the suitability of the gear change lever......priceless......

The SVX whilst not everones 'cup of tea' did have some nice unique touches that due to time have become available on occasion. Each to their own.
