Towing Electrics
Hi

I've fitted a towbar to my 07 TDCi with no electrics.

I'm now thinking of adding Electrics to it.

Does anyone know if the wiring is already there, and I just need to find the connector?

Or do I need to put in all the wires?

Cheers... 2.4 110 XS

Hello foiloman - there's a thread on here already about this that will give you some useful guidance, but essentially there is a plug connector behind the offside rear lights, accessed through the wheelarch behind a plastic panel held in place by one single screw & nut. The electrics with 7 pin plug on it, bought from LR or elsewhere, plugs into that socket and threads through to your tow bar or to the hole in the X-member.

Good luck.

Thumbs Up

Yes, just lie on the ground and put your arm up into the wheel arch and you will feel a plastic flap that will pull away, then at the top of the void the Grey plug is clipped in place, yank it down and plug it into your towbar electrics - that's it.

The genuine 12N wiring kit from Landrover was about £22,, then went up to £60 odd, IIRC,, but is a plug and play kit, Its the way i have always done it,, Just fitted one to the D3, really simple, but a tad expensive !!! California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Got my wiring kit from a trailer and tow bar fitters near me. I can't remember what it cost me now.
Might be cheaper than Land Rover price if you have one near you.
