Hi
Don't know if I submitted my post incorrectly...got no reply..? I want to know if anyone has experience or advice for leaking power steering pump on 300tdi. Should I just replace or is a fix possible. 215000 km's done Regards Sarel Meyer |

Sarel, theres a 'tdi' section on this forum, but theres not many of us 300tdi owners on here, mostly Puma owners. If I was you I would post your question on Landyzone or Landrovernet.com, Im sure you will get a good response over there

My experience is that repairing a power steering pump is false economy. Given the mileage, I'd definitely replace it. Darren

I replaced rather than repair as it seemed a false economy to repair John

I put a brand new ZF one on my 300 disco, was only about £60 (mates rates at local factors). When I removed the old one found the bottom hose had a small split where the jubilee clip fixed it to the bottom of the pump. Had to shorted the pipe a little. I fitted the new pump anyway so will never know if that was the only source of the oil leak...
Worth checking?? |
