Towing Electrics Help.
I have just bought a dixon bate adjustable tow bar and N Type towing electrics. fitting the tow bar was no ploblem, but where is the block connector for the electrics? I have a 2010 MY defender 110 XS station wagon.
Any help would be appreciated.

Right hand rear wheel arch, behind the thin black splash panel, fitted against the rear panel,, pull back enough to feel around for the plug California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

I wasn't going to, i was going to use the bracket on the tow bar. It's a genuine landrover socket, so is using the cross member hole better?

Have put the socket in the hole for the last 4/5 Defenders,, previously would have to change it after a few years due to crud or damage, been fine since,,
Plus also when used offroad the whole towbar is removed to avoid it acting as a plough,, 5 min job, as the electrics don't need to be touched California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

Sounds Fair enough. Is this the square hole in the middle of the big round hole in the middle right of the rear cross member as used by the military to mount their electrics? If so do i need a plate or any thing to mount it?

No,, i use some stainless self tappers in place of the machine screws, the loom goes through the hole, then down to the plug behind the panel,, 15 min job California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1

I got stopped and lectured by Plod about my "show plates" a couple of weeks back... £60 fine, £35 for new plates and a b0ll0cking from the DVLA warning I'd lose my number if I EVER mis represent the registration.. I even had to send photographic proof I'd changed the plates for legal ones!! Big Cry Big Cry ... ,-------,

£35 for new plates is a bit steep don't you think? On plates i can understand the law but they even will have you for the small detail on the bottom of the plate too (details of manufacturer and BS mark)
