Help regarding props
Help folks!

I know nothing regarding vehicular engineering but as I have a big (big) trip planned for next year I need to dive under/into our Puma 110 and become.........intimate (perhaps we shouldn't have called him Leonard??)

I have to replace a diff pinion seal. Whilst researching this I have come across threads regarding replacing prop shafts on vehicles that have had a 2" lift with a wide angle prop. Our vehicle has such a lift but which replacement to go for. I have never been one for skimping - rather buy quality and only buy once! But what to go for?

Or

Or
What?
And....is it as simple as taking one off and putting the new on and....do you replace both props.

Be gentle.

Steve

Do you need a 2" lift Sad

The most important starting point for me would be to find a decent prop. There is a lot of rubbish out there and the extra height will take it's toll.

Where are you going Question

I changed both of my props on my 90 for HD/DC units

KEY KEY THING TO REMEMBER IS The rear prop makes your handbrake work ... so

1. have your truck on a level surface

2. chock the wheels

3. put in diff lock

4. always use new nuts and bolts

also, there is a special tool you can buy that will save you loads of time

Thanks for replies one and all.

I have spoken to Gwyn Lewis and he doesn't think I need to worry about changing prop as the supplied one is more than adequate. Nice bloke.

Zagato the plan is to drive to Vladivostock via the Stans and Mongolia then ship to Oz for 6mths!!
